If the printer does not have a reset button, power off the printer and wait several seconds before turning it back on. Press and hold this button for three seconds to reset the printer and clear away corrupted data.

I know printers store a lot of our info and I would like to know how to erase it before we pass it on. I check ink levels and K is about 20%, M is a little lower, and Y even lower. This literally happened a few minutes ago: Half way down the print, printer says my C is low.
I'm now using auto reset chips but having major problems with them.
